Additional new-blogger comment

In addition to Tracey's post below, I wanted to mention to be sure to read the comments section. From time to time, we may have a post, and then a discussion may ensue. Follow the comments below. If you feel that you are adding a comment to a post that is old, and therefore we may not see it, just go ahead and add a new post.
Make sense?

So:

Post = A photo, a message, etc, that appears in date order on our site.
Comment = a comment on an individual post.

Also, the "gmail thing." Blogger has decided that it will only let people use their site if they have a gmail acount. So mom, you will need to create an account in gmail. This will be a new email account for yourself, and it will allow you access to post and comment on our site. However, you don't have to use your email account. For instance, I have a gmail account (kerileroux@gmail.com) ...but I never use it. I only use it when I log in here. The account I still use is muenchkeri@hotmail.com...since I've had that account for almost 15 years.

I hope this makes sense.

Lastly, and tracey may have mentioned this as well

Blogger 101 for those of you that are new to this

BLOGGER 101

Here's a little tutorial about posting a blog post [and adding pictures] to our fun family blog.

When you visit toomuenchfun.blogspot.com it will not automatically ask you to sign in. If you are not logged into your gmail.com account you will need to click on the sign in link at the upper right corner of the page. Once you log in using your gmail account information you will be sent to your blog dashboard as they like to call it. In the Muench Family Blog area of the page click the link that says New Post.

That will take you to a blank blog post screen.
Here you just type your blog entry. You can change font size, color, bold it, change justification, add a list or bullet points and even spell check. Yippee.
The other icons at the top of the entry section includes one that looks like parentheses or glasses on a globe. That's the Hyperlink tool.
Highlight text or a picture, click this link, and add a web link to take the reader to a certain web page.

Another tool is the icon that looks like a scenic picture. Click that link and another box will pop up prompting you to add images. You add images from your own computer. You can change the size or justification and then click upload image. You can click and drag the image once it is in your post to place it where you'd like to see it. Word to the wise though, the post never looks exactly like you think it will, that why you can always go back and edit posts. Just ask KL or I if you need to do that.

The final useful tool on the page is the movie icon. You can load your own little movies really easy with this icon.
If you want to post YouTube videos you will have to switch your blog post to Edit Html and drop in the videos embedded code. This too is easy and I can tell you how to do that if you are interested. Actually I just did ... hee hee

Once you are finished you just click PUBLISH POST at the bottom left of the screen.
The end.

This is currently a public blog so if you want to remain anonymous to random visitors please don't use names and refrain from talking about anyone or anything that could get you in some sort of trouble with work or friends.

Ogden Fun Days

Well as it turns out, our Granny and Grandpa have been chosen by someone to be one couple of 6-or 7 that get to ride in a float for the Ogden Fun Days Parade.

I'd like to go down if you all are in for it. The Parade starts at 10:30 on Saturday. Here's the only thing...it is on Saturday June 21. That is the exact same day I have a surprise for Tracey waiting for us back in the cities. We need to be back in time for early evening that very same day.

So, here's my proposition, who's in for driving down to Iowa on Friday night with me? But, you pretty much gotta leave with me right around 12noon-ish on Saturday, right after the parade. I know, not ideal...but that's how it goes.

The reason we have to be back in town is a surprise, but if tracey uses some slueth-skills, she might be able to guess what it is. Its a b-day present from me, so we gotta be back for it, and it is only on that day.

Anyone? Anyone?

Max and I have been recruited by TAPS

This is how we went to the Geek Prom last weekend at the Aquarium in Duluth. We heard there was a haunting there and we were going to debunk it!
Check out our fellow Ghost Hunters ... the real taps .. every Wednesday on SciFi
I finally got to go to the Greak Lakes Aquarium, where I saw a drunk guy try to tie a balloon to a sting ray .. I wanted to smack him good!

Wish I was there!

New Possible Muench Family Destination??

I know we've made Duluth the destination for the past two Muench gatherings, but I just wanted to pass along this great place Max and I stumbled on this past weekend. Because of a party upstairs, we decided to have a get-away here in town. Last Munger stay was just not the greatest. Even though they are trying to spruce the place up I think the quality is actually diminishing. So here's the new place Island View Resort in Knife River just 20 minutes north of Duluth. I think this would be a fun retreat because it would be less about touring Duluth and trying to find something to do, and more about relaxing, hiking, having campfires, playing games, relaxing, sailing, playing games, singing around the campfire, relaxing, talking, campfires ... need I say more? This is right across the street [or there abouts] from the Knife River Marina where Max and I can park the boat so we can sail if the weather is good too. Here are some pictures of Cabin 10. They say it sleeps 6 but with the air mattress we can get 8 easily. Also I bet we could pitch a tent if someone wanted to sleep under the stars. Although they'd have to be mindful of the wildlife. There are bears up in these parts. I think the cabin would come to $150 a night with tax, that would be $60 per person for a three night stay. Not bad at ALL! Here are some pictures to tempt you and to help you keep spring in your thoughts even though we're facing blizzard warnings for the next few days. What ever... summer will come sooner or later!
This last picture is of the porch. The owner said people just love sleeping in here! This is also where they have the bonfires!
